Shoalhaven Recycling has been leading the way in South Coast sustainability since the 1990s, and we continue to do so today. Providing a range of recycling services and products is not enough. To truly succeed at our mission of building a greener Shoalhaven, education of the public is necessary.
Many Australians have a basic concept of recycling, but they may not understand how it impacts their daily lives. They also may not fully grasp the implications of failing to recycle.
We don’t aim to judge or chastise, but instead to encourage our community to take small, manageable steps. We want to showcase the positive aspects of recycling and sustainability, and demonstrate how valuable these simple little lifestyle changes can be to the overall health of New South Wales, and to the entire planet.
Young minds are open and ready to adopt positive habits for life. When local children from the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, and Southern Highlands visit our Bomaderry recycling factory, they are taught lessons that will stay with them for years to come. Learning about the recycling process is fascinating, and shows young people how recycling even the smallest item can make a world of difference.
